At the end of 2018 BQ announced an agreement by which the Vietnamese company VinGroup bought 51% of BQ . It was the kick-off in Spain of the commercial brand called Vsmart that from now on will take the witness of BQ products.
This brand has a production capacity of more than 5 million terminals per year and will soon begin to be seen in smartphones that will try to compete in this market. On March 20 we have an appointment with them .
This was revealed by the invitation to the press event, which highlights how in a few days we will be able to “discover the surprise of Vietnam”, and mobile terminals with a dual camera , a fingerprint reader in the back and apparently reduced frames are outlined .
Little more can be guessed from those lines of design, but as assured by the managers of the company, the landing of Vsmart mobile phones in Spain ” is just the beginning “.
In fact, they say, they want to become “one of the leading technology companies in the world.” Mobile phones could therefore only be the spearhead of a more ambitious strategy.
VinGroup will continue to take advantage of BQ’s resources in product design , research and development, and Vsmart will in fact market the Aquaris X2 Pro and Aquaris C under its local brand in Vietnam.
